New Yachtmaster Candidate arrives from Australia

Following the drama with the Portugese Navy and a stray fishing net, the crew of Great Escape having to motor sail for the first time since refuelling, then had to deal with contaminated fuel. Yes - no engine! They decided to head for Port De Americas in Cadiz Bay. The marina was chosen because the crew knew they could sail in. Having arrived safely, the yacht was then walked into her berth for the weekend and the lads had a well earned break. This morning with a "local assist" from Pedro, the tank was emptied, filters changed and refuelled. They slipped at 1545, heading out with full canvass and a strong Easterly, destination Faro. Passage weather their trusted weather router gives a good forecast for the week, and if all goes to plan a light Westerly back through the Straits Of Gibraltar and into Marina Bay for Sunday. Well that´s the plan. Check out the weather and let us know what you think here.

Welcome to Matt from Australia who is joining us on the 18th Feb for his Yachtmaster Course, we look forward to sailing with you Matt. If you are considering a RYA Yachtmaster Course email us for further information or call one of our RYA Course Advisors on 0034 972 662 494
