RYA Competent Crew sail through the Gale and earn their RYA Certificates

RYA Competent Crew Liz and Carl sailed aboard Dogstar from Port D'Aro this week amid some very variable weather. The Gulf De Lyon and the Bay of Rosas were suffering from 40 knot winds. But as you would expect from a Professional Crew they stayed South and sailed off Palamos, Port D'Aro, Sant Feliu De Guixols and sailed most of the week. They benefitted from some marina bashing in Marina Palamos, and learned the basics of how to Crew Competently on any Yacht. Knots, ropework, reefing the sails - very useful this week and how to live onboard a yacht whilst at sea. RYA Competent Crew is a fun course too, and the Skipper made as much use of the time as possible. The sun still shone, but our favorite Northerly wind, Tramuntana ensured some exciting sailing. Liz and Carl have a motor boat in Cardiff and are well used to some very strong tides. Well done to them both, come back soon for your RYA Day Skipper. If you would like to sail with the RYA, onboard modern yachts with fully qualified Professional Skippers just email or call 0034 972 662 494 we look forward to sailing with you.
