RYA Fasttrack Yachtmaster Milebuilding - Portugal, Spain & Gibraltar

Great Escape with our Fast Track Yachtmaster´s onboard is in the Atlantic tidal milebuilding. Keeping the Yachtmaster candidates on their toes was the Portugese Navy. At 2053 last night they were boarded off Olhoa and had their ships papers inspected along with a check of the yachts flares and liferaft.The yacht is MCA/RYA coded and inspected and finding everything in order the Portugese Navy were happy to let the crew continue towards Cadiz.

The challenge for the Yachtmaster crew was not yet over at 0110 this morning they snagged a local fishing line, impossible to see in the dark. The Skipper issued a pan pan and local police and some very friendly fishermen responded. No damage to the line or the yacht were reported and at 0200 they were freed and underway again. RYA adventure sailing at its best with all the correct actions taken by the crew in both circumstances.
